IT CABINET - HOW TO INSTALL A BATTERY BACKUP POWER SUPPLY (UPS)
PURPOSE
Instructional guide on how to install a battery backup power supply or UPS.
PROCESS
- Contact Mister IT to shut down the store’s server, Manager PC, Controller, and if needed, the Send Station.
- Once they are all shut down, press, and hold the power button on the front to turn off the old UPS.
- You will hear a beep once it is shut down.
- Disconnect the cables that are connected to the back of the old UPS.
- Disconnect the power cable from the outlet.
- Unscrew the 4 screws holding the old UPS in the IT Cabinet. Remove the old UPS from the IT Cabinet.
- Locate the two mounting brackets and screw them onto the new UPS.
- Place the new UPS inside the IT Cabinet and screw the 4 screws into the IT Cabinet to hold the new UPS in place.
- Plug in all the cables into the new UPS.
- Plug in the power cord into the outlet.
- Press and hold the power button to turn the UPS on. You will hear a beep once it is on.
- Contact Mister IT to verify the store’s server, Manager PC, Controller, and if needed, the Send Station are on.
