Troubleshoot Kiosk-Free MOL Lanes
PURPOSE
The Kiosk-Free Lanes are generally serviced using a POS Tablet. However, issues may arise that are not displayed in the lane.
This guide provides troubleshooting steps for the Field to self-serve and resolve common problems encountered with Kiosk-Free Lanes.
PROCESS
If the gate is not opening for multiple active members:
-
ALWAYS USE THE TABLET TO OPEN THE GATE, NOT THE GATE KEY
- Request the gate to open using a tablet or the POS. Then, close the gate using the key:
- Test the lane by allowing or observing a UWC vehicle to attempt to open the gate.
- Repeat one more gate request (open the gate with the tablet, then close the gate with the gate key) using a tablet or the POS before proceeding.
-
Verify the proper sequence is set.
- You can see this on the same page at the Gate Request button.
-
SEQUENCE 60 should always be assigned to all Kiosk-Free lanes.
- USE THE OFFICE MONITOR TO VIEW THE MEMBERS-ONLY LANE SCREEN
- In the Manager's Office, use the KVM Switch to view the kiosk screen:
- On the keyboard press the "Scroll" Key twice
- Use the "Up", "Down", and "Enter" keys to select the kiosk you want to view and control.
- If you are not able to switch over to the lane via the KVM Switch, contact Mister IT to troubleshoot the KVM Switch.
- If the screen is normal and on the Start page, skip to the next step.
- Take a picture of the screen for reference.
- If the kiosk is on a screen with a red button, click the red button using the mouse.
- Test the lane by observing if active UWC members open the gate as normal.
- If the kiosk is on a screen with two buttons, click "No".
- Test the lane by observing if active UWC members open the gate as normal.
- ENSURE THE RFID READER IS WORKING
- Double-click on the top left and top right corners of the screen using the mouse.
- Click "1" and then click "Enter".
- Enter the Employee ID.
- Click "Manager Screen".
- Click "RFID Status".
- Click "Start" in the bottom left corner.
- If it shows a power level, this means the RFID Reader is talking to the program, which is a good thing.
- Record the power level on a sticky note.
- Click the cancel buttons until the screen returns to the kiosk Start page.
- Test the lane by allowing or observing a UWC vehicle attempt to open the gate.
- If the issue does not resolve itself, adjust the power level.
- Double-click the top left and top right corners of the screen.
- Close the program by entering 0808.
- Click this link for RFID Power Level adjusting.
- If it does not show a power level, contact Mister IT for further troubleshooting.
If there is no mouse cursor on the kiosk screen when viewing it on the KVM switch:
- RESTART THE KIOSK PC
- Hit the Windows Key on the keyboard, then click on the Windows icon to open the Power options and click "Restart".
- After the computer reboots, wait 2 minutes after the LogicWash program runs to see if the mouse cursor is present.
- Test the lane by allowing or observing a UWC vehicle attempt to open the gate. The reboot may have cleared any other issues.
